LAWRENCE SCHOOL WEEK AHEAD UPDATE

DECEMBER 9TH - DECEMBER 13TH

Student Safety Assembly: This morning, School Resource Officer, Ryan Hergt, presented information to our students on our district's developing safety practices, and the components of ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Combat, Evacuate). The students were extremely respectful and attentive during the presentations. The content was appropriate for the grade levels, and Officer Hergt was sincere and thoughtful in his delivery. We encourage you to have ongoing conversations with your child around school safety. Please help by talking with them about how joking, or chatting about violent events such as shootings is not appropriate for school. When we learn about these incidents, the school will always take them very seriously. As always, we encourage students to be kind and compassionate to each other, because we know that students feeling connected to their schools is a great way to prevent dangerous or violent acts from occurring at schools. If you notice something concerning based on a conversation with your child - please email Principal Tom Bushy ( tbushy@falmouth.k12.ma.us ) as soon as possible, in as much as he checks incoming messages beyond regular school hours. Officer Hergt is also a great resource, and can be reached by email ( rhergt@falmouth.k12.ma.us ) or the station at 774-255-4527x4617. We are thankful for the great partnership we have with the Falmouth Police Department, and our partnerships with our students' families.
