Message from Superintendent Duerr
July 31, 2020
Dear Staff and Families,
This week has found us digging deeper into the details for getting back to school. While this phrase may not conjure up the same images, it does bring a sense of routine and anticipation.
Falmouth Public Schools Stronger Together: Reopening Falmouth Public Schools plan is still in draft form until the School Committee approves it. The meeting at which the vote is expected is scheduled for the Thursday, August 6, 2020 agenda. When you open the plan, you can click on the hyperlinked (underlined) section titles in the banner of each slide. When you do, you will be directed to the first slide in that section of the presentation.
Even after the School Committee approves our reopening plan, changes may be made based on guidance from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), Governor Baker, or the Falmouth Department of Health. Furthermore, as we finalize school based decisions, there may be need for further changes. We will continue to receive feedback through our district and school planning committees and the family forum before presenting a final draft to the School Committee.
We are holding a Family Forum on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 6:00pm. The meeting will be held virtually through Zoom. This forum will provide our Clipper community an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on our reopening plan. Please review the plan prior to the meeting. We will not present the plan at the forum to allow for more time to listen and answer questions. Thank you again for your patience and continued support as we navigate our journey to the new school year.
