Superintendent Update

Dear Staff and Families,
 
Blizzard Warning! A blizzard warning is in effect for our area. Barnstable County and the Town of Falmouth are preparing for what looks like a major storm. As well, the FPS is prepared to the extent possible. Just in case the storm clean-up or power outages last into next week, please look for a communication from my office on Sunday about school on Monday.
 
At-Home Testing Program. Next week begins the new testing program with at-home tests. If you registered prior to Thursday, your child will receive a test kit (2 tests) on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. Your child should take the test prior to school on Wednesday.
• If your child tests negative, you do not need to do anything further and your child may attend school.
• If your child tests positive, please keep your child home and complete the form that was sent home.
• If you have questions about the testing program you may email the COVID team at covidteam@falmouth.k12.ma.us or call 1-774-392-6477.
 
If you have not yet registered your child to receive the at-home test kits, you may do so at anytime using the link that was emailed to families.
 
You only need to register once to join the program. If you register after we place the weekly order with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), you will be added to the next round of test delivery. We supply one test kit (two tests) every two weeks. Your child should test once each week before school begins on Wednesday.
 
If you need additional test kits to have available if you/your child have symptoms, you can receive four free tests from the federal government. Order your free tests at covidtests.gov.
