What a great first week! Smiles all around.
★ Cafeteria lunch tables are full of chatter at FHS. One senior was heard saying, "This feels normal. I'm actually kind of excited for school."
★ At Lawrence, 7th graders were having fun moving about the science labs participating in a learning activity about microscope parts, slides, electron microscopy, safety tools, and observations of plants. Social learning is back!
★ 5th graders at Morse Pond worked on a welcome back activity selecting adjectives to describe themselves. It was wonderful to see the variety, creativity, and, most of all, the positivity they brought to this reflection. Some adjectives shared were smart, energetic, happy, and beautiful.
★ It was a party atmosphere on the first day at East Falmouth Elementary as the children and families arrived at school. The school community celebrated with balloons, dance music, and a festive "welcome back" sign on the playground. The fun continued with Italian ice for everyone at
lunch, sponsored by EFES’s amazing PTO. "This is the best place ever. I'm so glad to be back at school," a grade 1 student exclaimed. "The energy is amazing, and I feel more rejuvenated than ever before,” said a grade 2 teacher.
★ At Mullen Hall, students were greeted with welcome signage, a balloon filled entrance, and "Happy” playing throughout the building. Second grade Nora was heard saying "The school feels like home.” Brooklyn from fourth grade said, “The school is so pretty." And new staff commented on how they felt welcomed.
★ The rain on the first day didn't dampen North Falmouth’s back to school spirit! The staff lined up at the entrance to greet the students with music, pom poms,
high fives, and lots of spirit. One student said, "Chicken nuggets for lunch on the first day, it doesn't get any better!" And another student was heard saying, "This is so much fun, it doesn't even feel like school!"
★ There was equal excitement at Teaticket School when students were greeted with special signage and smiling staff. Classrooms are engaged in team work activities to build their classroom communities.

Our Volunteers! This school year marks the 40th anniversary of the Falmouth VIPS Program. VIPS will be celebrating this milestone by sharing stories and profiling volunteers and community partners who have played an important role in the program over the past four decades. If you have a story to share, they would love to hear it.
We appreciate your patience with busing. We are still working out the kinks while navigating traffic and road work. Kudos to our bus drivers for the first smiles of the day!
