September 2019 Newsletter

Welcome Back!

The sun is shining and students are smiling! We have had a wonderful start to the 2019-2020 school year. It always amazes me how quickly the mechanism of school can restart each year after so many weeks away. I hope that all members of our school community enjoyed well-deserved time with friends and family over the summer.

While we did not add new teaching staff to our ranks this year, some familiar faces are now in new roles:

*Mr. Michael Irving, who had been serving as a special education teacher, is now a 2nd grade classroom teacher.

*Mrs. Sharon Edgar moved from 4th grade to 1st grade.

Both of these shifts occurred due to retirements and enrollment at each grade level. I truly appreciate their willingness to fill a new role and help our team create an exemplary educational experience for all students.

We would also like to formally welcome Mrs. Kristina Roderick to our kitchen staff. Kristina will be working with Mrs. Licciardi to create some new menu items and options this year, so stay tuned for more cafeteria information coming soon!

Meet Your Teacher Night will be on September 18 from 6-8 in the evening. A separate information packet will be going home with more details about this evening. I look forward to seeing you on that night and throughout the school year. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns at: tadams@falmouth.k12.ma.us via telephone at: 563-2334

Fondly,

Tim Adams, Principal

Counselor’s CornerGreetings from the Counselor!

As always, it’s been a wonderful start to the school year here at North Falmouth! As the year gets underway I like to let parents know of my role here at school. I conduct classroom lessons, individual counseling, and topic-focused groups (divorce, anxiety, social skills), as well as "lunch bunch" groups. Please note parental permission is always sought for topic-focused groups, but not for lunch groups. Lunch groups are a relaxed, non-structured time for students to focus on fun topics and playing games. All groups are an enjoyable and educational way for the students to connect with others, and to share thoughts and feelings. I also help families connect with community resources. We are fortunate to have extra brand-new back packs here at school for any student in need of one. Please contact me at any time this year and I would be happy to send a new one home with your child.

As a school we will continue the North Falmouth tradition of following the Peace Builders program throughout the school year in our classrooms, in the building, and during our Community Meetings. Please feel free to contact me at any time by telephone, by email, or by just stopping in! LeBlanc, LMHC, School Adjustment Counselor, 508-563-2334 x7310 aleblanc@falmouth.k12.ma.us

Important Reminders - Students may NOT take the bus from Morse Pond to North Falmouth and go to parent pickup.  Only North Falmouth students can be picked up in parent pickup.  Thank you for your understanding.
