MAKO MEMO

January 19, 2024

Dear Mullen-Hall Families,

3 men on stage playing jazz music to student audience

Wednesday we were provided a jazz performance for the entire school. This performance  was provided by the Provincetown Jazz Festival. Thank you for this opportunity!  Students and staff enjoyed the show and amazing audience skills were displayed by our MAKOS!

Valentine’s Day and No Guff Week 2024

We are so excited this year that Valentine’s Day falls during No Guff week, a long standing tradition of FPS promoting love, kindness, and friendship. We are not canceling the traditional card exchange. As a district we are collaboratively working on implementing positive changes in our schools aimed at fostering an atmosphere of belonging for all students. No Guff Week is February 12th - 16th we will celebrate the theme of “One Positive Contribution; One Positive Community.” Over the week, students complete activities during the school day such as sending kindness letters/notes to peers, staff and the community. We are taking advantage of the overlap of celebrations to combine the traditional Valentine card exchange with Clipper Kindness Notes to provide opportunities for all to be included.

We will continue to get outside as much as possible. Please send your child with clothing appropriate for the weather conditions. The cancellation of outside activities is a decision based on the Child  Care Weather Child guidelines and the conditions of the field.

Martha’s Vineyard Banking Report:

The student bankers made great strides today towards their goal of $1000 collectively saved in January.  They are at just under $800 so we are pretty sure that they can do it by next week!

Next week we will draw the name of our raffle winner for a Michaels Gift Card.

The national drawing is for a pair of binoculars.  Student bankers who make three deposits by Valentine’s Day are automatically entered, 6 winners will be chosen throughout the country.

We have some new water bottle stickers generously donated from MV Bank which your student will be bringing home with them today and for the next few weeks.

Have a great weekend!
