Mako Memo - September 16, 2022

MAKO MEMO

September 16, 2022

Dear Mullen-Hall Families,

Thank you to everyone who has filled out the online forms packet. This is a new process and we appreciate your patience with this new initiative. They are to be completed online by logging into your PowerSchool Parent/Guardian account.

If you need assistance please email: helpdesk@falmouth.k12.ma.us.

We had our first fire drill this week on Tuesday. All went well!   Fire Prevention Officer O’Malley was impressed with  our Makos!  We will continue with our fire drills throughout the year along with ALICE training.

Schools in the district have received digital displays. Mullen Hall has two! One is mounted when you enter the building and the other is in the cafeteria. Pictures will be streamed as we display our Makos’ learning and accomplishments throughout the year.

Our school safety monitor has begun, Ms. Kerry. She will be seen around the building, throughout the building, and assisting with arrival/dismissal and on the playground. Thank you Ms. Kerry!

Chromebook support is always available for families. Please feel free to reach out to the Help Desk when you need support for your student's Chromebook.

Martha's Vineyard Savings Bank

We are pleased to offer another year of School Banking through the School Savings
program and Martha's Vineyard Savings Bank. In-school banking will be open starting on
Friday Sept 23rd! It is a great way to help your child create saving habits early in life. If
your child is already signed up from a previous year you don't need to anything further. If
you are new to the program please fill out the application form and have your child return
it to their teacher to get them enrolled. You can get started at any point throughout the
year but if you would like to participate in the first banking day on the 23rd please return
your form by Tuesday Sept 20th. Forms will also be available to fill out at the Meet the
Teacher Night, please bring your child Social Security Number. Hard copy forms must be
submitted, unfortunately the online application will not fully sign your child up for the
program.

Banking takes place on Fridays at 9:15am in the cafeteria. Students who bank on the first
day will be given a lanyard to transport their money each week, will be entered in a school
wide drawing for a Gift Certificate to Eight Cousins, and a program wide drawing for Back
to School Supplies including crayons, markers, notebooks, etc. There is no minimum
deposit or fee for participation. A statement will be mailed to your child each month so
that they can watch their savings grow.
