Mrs. Sharon Reid

Mrs. Reid has been serving up this corn chowder dish almost as long as she has been living on Cape Cod, since the mid-1980s. A must have recipe for anyone planting roots in New England, a chef and close friend of her husband taught her how to make it.

When Mrs. Reid started working for the town of Falmouth Building Department in 1993 and five years later transferred to East Falmouth Elementary School as the school’s secretary, she brought this chowder to most winter work events and often with fresh bread. Nearly 28 years later and now the executive assistant to the office of the Superintendent, Mrs. Reid’s dish still has a place at work events. We are excited to have the opportunity to try it on March 24th with a ham and cheese biscuit, and fresh apple.

For the second month our collaborator happens to have the same craziest food bite. In 1977, at the top of the Prudential Center in Boston, Mrs. Reid and her brave taste buds tried frog legs! Way to go Mrs. Reid!

Mrs. Reid has undoubtedly been a key builder in the infrastructure of the Clipper Community and we are so grateful for her continued contribution to making this place so special. Thank you for sharing your recipe with us and a piece of what makes our Falmouth Clipper community home for you.
