Welcome to the FHS Library! Students come to the library throughout the day in two ways: with their class and classroom teacher or on an individual pass. After school, no pass is required for students to come to the library.
The library is a welcoming place for students to conduct research, do homework, sharpen information literacy skills, and find books for both school assignments and personal reading.
New books are delivered every month in an effort to keep library resources up-to-date. In addition, the library subscribes to OverDrive downloadable eBooks and audiobooks, which is accessible to current students and staff members.
The library contains two classroom areas: one area houses group tables with the seating capacity for forty-four students, plus a teacher station with SMARTBoard. The other classroom is a traditional computer lab setting with twenty-four student computers and a teacher station with SMARTBoard. In addition, the library has thirty iPads that are available to individual students in the library but also are lent as a set to classrooms as needed.
The library curriculum includes improving research skills by using over fifty electronic databases, including GALE and Encyclopedia Britannica. The library provides students with premium access to NoodleTools, an information literacy platform.
