Dear Staff and Families,
Throughout the fall, the School Committee and administration shared several challenges that needs our attention along with many opportunities for our staff, students, and families. We offered ten community forums to gather input from our community in order to chart a course forward – and to navigate the future together.
In October, the district engaged the services of the New England School Development Council (NESDEC) to conduct an analysis of enrollment projections, facilities use, and other considerations, and to present a report that includes a series of options for consideration.
We will receive the NESDEC report next week. The School Committee will hold a special School Committee meeting on March 6 at 6:00 pm. The meeting will be held in the Lawrence School Auditorium. The purpose for the special meeting is to hear a NESDEC representative present the report. We invite you to attend the meeting to listen to this presentation.
The report will be available on the FPS Website the following day on March 7.
The Building Needs Task Force will reconvene their meetings on March 27 at 6:00 pm at the Administration Building when they will begin studying the report.
We are offering a new community forum on April 3 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm in the FHS Auditorium. We are interested in hearing your thoughts and ideas regarding the NESDEC report. You may also provide feedback anytime through a new Navigating the Future Together Feedback Form available on our website on March 7.
