Lawrence School Proposed Renovation
The following Statement of Interest filed with the MSBA on April 11, 2025, the Facilities Conditions Assessment report from Habeeb & Associates Architects, and the video represent an opportunity for Falmouth Public Schools families and community members to learn more about the rationale behind the Lawrence School proposed renovation. The report is a comprehensive study of the facilities condition of the Lawrence School. It also outlines the potential cost of renovating the school. This cost is reflective of the upgrade to the school’s core systems, bringing them to current code. However, the cost of the classroom reconfiguration has yet to be estimated. This cost will be developed during the schematic design phase of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) core program, when the Lawrence School is accepted into the program. The MSBA core program for both the major renovation and new construction of school buildings is a highly competitive program. It often requires multiple years of application. The District will receive an invitation into the program sometime in December if successful for this year’s application.
We invite you to read the Statement of Interest, review the report, and watch the video with the hope that by sharing this information it may encourage thoughtful discussion, input, and excitement about this project.
