Dear Staff and Families,
On Tuesday, the School Committee approved returning the Morse Pond School and property to the Town of Falmouth once the Lawrence School renovation is complete. We will know on December 12, 2025, if we are accepted into the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) program.
Once accepted, the MSBA program will guide us through an approximately six-year process from initial planning, funding (including determining the MSBA funding portion of the project), design phase, and renovation. If we are accepted into this year’s program, the renovation should be completed in time for the 2032-33 school year. Morse Pond School will stay open until this process is completed.
Bus Safety. Just a reminder to be mindful of school buses traveling to and from our schools. Please take the time to slow down and watch for the red flashing lights on school buses when making their stops to pick up or drop off our students. Thank you to the Falmouth Police Department for their Operation BUSted today. Not only did they watch for people driving through the flashing red bus stops, they were watching for people driving too fast in front of our schools. The FPD is planning to conduct these exercises on a more regular basis. So please, give yourself a little extra time during morning and afternoon commutes and please stay alert in school zones and neighborhoods. And thank YOU, as well, for helping us keep our students and drivers safe every day.
