Science and Engineering Fair

  • Science Fair Project

The Falmouth Public Schools Science and Engineering Fair is usually held the first Saturday in March.  The fair is a district-wide event open to students at all grade levels K-12.  Individual student and class projects are welcome. The fair is judged by scientists from the Woods  Hole research community and local business people and members of community organizations related to science, technology, or engineering.  The fair is sponsored by many of these same organizations and over $7,000 in scholarships and cash awards are granted to students and classes.  Many local scientists and engineers also serve as mentors for student projects.  Thank you to our sponsors, mentors, and judges!

High school students may qualify to attend the South Shore Regional Science Fair at Bridgewater State College later in March and/or the Massachusetts State Science and Engineering Fair at MIT in May.  Falmouth High School can proudly claim nine International Science and Engineering Fair winners in the past thirteen years and twelve students in the past ten years who have presented at the American Junior Academy of Science, a national honor society that recognizes high school students from across the country for their scientific research. Five students in the past five years have been awarded $5,000 Marjot Foundation grants to support their research projects.
