Ms. Larson

My 2017-2018 year begins with my 31st year teaching at Morse Pond in grade 6.  How is that possible!  I have treasured my time here at Morse Pond and look forward to another fantastic year.  I am blessed to be working with my partner, Melissa Hamilton, as we have a fantastic relationship.  Unless the topic is football!  Although we love the sport, we differ when it comes to teams.  I am a born and raised NY Giants Fan from Connecticut.  She is a Baltimore Ravens fan.  Yet, our principal, Tim McLaughlin, is a season ticket holder for the NE Patriots.  Yikes!  Makes for an interesting fall.

In terms of academics, I love writing. I love reading.  I love social studies.  In general, I simply love to teach.  I treasure my relationships with my students.  Each year I have a goal to produce a team play at the end of the year.  I look at my classroom as a warm, safe, and interesting place to be.

On a personal note, I live with my partner, Don Smith, and love being active.  I row crew in Centerville and recently became certified as an indoor rowing instructor.  I also play ice hockey, love to go for a long walk, and organize the Morse Pond Running Club.

I was certified as a physical education teacher at Southern Connecticut State University, but moved on with my Masters in Elementary Education from Bridgewater State University. Something I have never regretted.

I look forward to a fabulous year!
