    Math Goal: Identify Unit Fractions

    Must dos:

    In addition to instructions students receive from their teachers, studetns are able to reinforce their learning with the following Khan Academy assignments. Each one includes video explanations and demonstrations of learning.

    • Day 1: Fractions Intro and Cutting Shapes into Equal Parts

    • Day 2: Identifying Unit Fractions

    • Day 3: Fractions in Context

    • Day 4: Understanding Fractions Quiz 1

    • Day 5: Mission/Mastery Challenges

    20 minutes of Fact practice daily 

    Can dos:

    • ST Math (**Parents- sign up for an account if you haven’t already!)

    • Problem of the Week:  Finding the Intersection (money)

    ELA Goal: Reading and Nouns 

    Must dos:

    • Passages on ReadWorks 

      • Happy Trails 

      • The Big Hike 

      • The Curious Situation of Foxes

      • Forgetting the Words

      • Assignments (choose 2 to read and answer questions)
    • Grammar: Khan Academy assignments and accompanying videos

      • Day 1: Identifying and Plural/Singular Nouns

      • Day 2: Types of Nouns (Concrete/Abstract, Common/Proper)

      • Day 3: Irregular Plural Nouns (Base Plurals and Irregular Endings)

      • Day 4: Irregular Plural Nouns (Mutant and Foreign Plurals)

      • Day 5: Unit Test

    • Minimum of 20 minutes of independent reading daily

    Can dos:

      • ReadTheory

      • Draw a picture of what you imagine the scene to be in your book

      • Record yourself reading your book out loud

      • Write an alternate ending to your book

      • Partner read with someone at home

      • Call a friend or family member and read to them

      Writing Goal: Narrative Writing

    Must dos:

      • Minimum of 2 days of journal writing 

      • 3 days- work on the narrative writing prompt that you choose (20 minutes  a day)- - Remember to revise and edit!!!

    • Your task is to write a journal entry explaining your experience during the American Revolution.

    Must dos:

        • Day 1: Relating Number Lines to Fraction Bars

        • Day 2: Unit Fractions on a Number Line and Fractions on a Number Line

        • Day 3: Finding 1 on the Number Line

        • Day 4: Fractions Greater than 1 on the Number Line

      • Day 1: Introduction to adjectives and articles

      • Day 2: Introduction to adverbs

      • Day 3: Adjective order and commas with adjectives

      • Day 4: Comparative, superlative, intensifiers, and adverbs of degree

      • Day 5: Unit Test

    • Minimum of 20 minutes of independent reading daily

    Can dos:

    • Find 3 or more objects inside or outside your house and make a list of adjectives to describe them. Write an interesting paragraph or poem.

    • Read poetry on Epic! Or in a book.

    • Act out a poem

    • Draw what you imagine the poem is saying

    Writing Goal: Poetry

    Must dos:

    • Minimum of 2 days of journal writing

    • Work on poetry writing prompts below or choose your own type of poem to write

    Prompts:

    • Write an acrostic poem about spring or other topic of your choosing.

    • Write a haiku poem (Haikus have  3 lines- line 1 has 5 syllables, line 2 has 7 syllables,  and line 3 has 5 syllables). Write a story in haikus! 

    • Write a rhyming poem about a topic of your choosing. Circle the rhyming words. Underline the adjectives in your poem. 

    Can dos:

    • Write a descriptive paragraph about an object. Use strong adjectives. Be creative!
