• Dear FHS Clippers & Families - We are finally at a point that one year ago seemed an impossible destination. We have a vaccine, and a good percentage of our students will soon be back at FHS in full force.  Nevertheless, there is still much work to do, and a lot of reshuffling needed by us all once again as we look ahead to leaving the hybrid model behind us on 5/3.  As we all know, this has been as difficult a year as anyone could ever have imagined, with a series of personal, professional, political, and socially challenging events that have forever changed us all in one way or another.  I extend my sincere appreciation to all students and families for your continued support and cooperation in making FHS work despite the challenges of COVID-19.

    Class of 2021 Graduation Ceremony

We are still in the planning stages for our Class of 2021 Graduation Ceremony scheduled for Saturday 6/5.  We are planning for an in-person ceremony outdoors on the new turf field with a rain date of Sunday 6/6.  As soon as our plans are finalized, I will share the information.

    Class of 2021 Celebration

The Senior Class Advisors and Class Officers are also working on a plan for a class celebration for some time during the week or so after Graduation.  More information regarding this celebration will be shared when details are confirmed.

    Class of 2021 Scholarship Information

All seniors have received a list of possible scholarships in their school email with deadlines through 5/31. They can review the list to choose which scholarships they would like to apply for and then check the listings in their Naviance account to download the applications. Please review this list and ENCOURAGE your senior student to apply: Scholarship Information for FHS Seniors.

    FAFSA Help for Seniors

Fewer high school seniors have filled out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) this year than in the previous two years, and DESE, the Department of Higher Education, MEFA (the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority), and other partners are working together to help more students complete the FAFSA and keep college as an option through a statewide campaign called “Worth It.”  Events include a virtual FAFSA Festival from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday 4/24. Experts from MEFA will be available all day to answer students’ and families’ FAFSA questions and help them complete the application one-on-one. The flyer is also available in Spanish.  Other opportunities include a one-on-one help from American Student Assistance and a FAFSA Overview with uAspire on Tuesday 4/27.

    Picture Day Make-Up

For any student who was not able to get their school picture taken on 4/6 or 4/13, we are planning on a Make-Up Picture Day on Friday 5/7.  I will share the details during the week of 4/26.

    Spring Sports Season

Our Spring Sports Season is set to begin on Monday 4/26.  The following sports are being offered:  Baseball, Softball, Boys Lacrosse, Girls Lacrosse, Boys Tennis, Girls Tennis, Boys Spring Track, Girls Spring Track, Unified Track & Field, Spring Golf, and Sailing.

Any student who is interested must register on FamilyID which can be found on our website here:  Athletics / Homepage.  Once registered on FamilyID, students will receive necessary information from coaches.

General information about the Spring Sports Season will be posted on the FHS website here:  Athletics / Homepage.  This will include specific information regarding COVID-19 protocols that will be in effect for all of our athletic programs.

You are welcome to contact FHS Athletic Director Kathleen Burke by email at kburke@falmouth.k12.ma.us or by phone at 508-540-2200 ext. 3022 with any questions.

    Vaccines for Students 16+

This is just another reminder that Governor Baker recently announced that every Massachusetts resident who is 16 or older will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine starting on 4/19 which is Phase 3 of the state’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout plan.  For more information, please visit the Commonwealth of Massachusetts COVID-19 website:  Details on Massachusetts' COVID-19 Vaccination Phases
