The Upper Cape Family Network (UCFN) is one of 42 Family Networks state-wide. It is a program for all families in Falmouth, Sandwich, Mashpee, and Bourne who have children ages zero (prenatal and preadoptive) through 48 months. All activities are free and include playgroups and parenting classes, child development information and VNA home visits, library programming and family activities, as well as local and community resources and referrals. Our home base, if you would care to visit us, is in the basement of the Falmouth Administration Building, 340 Teaticket Highway, in East Falmouth.
The Upper Cape Family Network (UCFN) believes that all parents, regardless of education or income level, race, creed, or family composition, are most effective when they feel supported in the vital, but often challenging, job of raising a family. By providing family recreational activities and playgroups, we hope to help parents build connections with other parents that will extend outside the Family Network. By providing information, resources, and parent support/education groups, we hope to help parents enhance their child-rearing skills.
We are funded by the Mass Department of Early Education and Care, with supporting grants from the Cape and Islands United Way, Wal-Mart, The Kiwanis of Sandwich, The Bourne/Sandwich Rotary Club, as well as collaborative support from Young Children First! (Falmouths Community Partnerships for Children).
