The Physical Education Department, along with the Health and Lifeskills Departments, work collaboratively to strengthen the wellness of students in Falmouth from grades K-12. Due in great part to the Carol White Physical Education Grant (PEP), the students in the Falmouth Public Schools will be exposed to 21st Century Wellness activities such as learning about heart rate, the importance of physical fitness, and appropriate use of a fitness center, all while working toward higher levels of fitness and lifelong wellness. Grades 4-12 are currently in the process of fitness testing. The results will be sent home to parents in the late Spring.
In an effort to combat the issue of bullying, the Elementary Schools will be using Peacebuilders, while the 5-12 schools will be using the Michigan Model. Both programs are supported by the Department of Education in Massachusetts as quality Bullying Prevention Programs.
